Seventy years ago no one knew (1) the word 'robot'. It was(2) first used by a Czechoslovakian writer, Karel Capek in(3) the 1920's. He wrote a play about a scientist who(4) invents machines which he calls (5) robots, from the Czech word robota, meaning 'slave-like work'. He gave them this name(6) because they were used / designed / able(7) to do very boring work. At(8) the end of the play, the robots kill their human owners and take over(9) the world.

There are many robots in(10) existence now, but they are quite different from (11) the robots of science fiction films and books. Instead(12) of being frightening, super-intelligent metal people, real robots are just machines controlled by(13) a computer to work in(14) a set way. They are generally deaf, dumb(15), blind, have no sense(16) of taste, smell, or touch, have difficulty in getting / moving / turning / going (17) around, and have no intelligence of their own(18). However, advances in(19) microchip technology mean that robots are beginning to be made with(20) a TV camera 'eye' or a microphone 'ear' which give them very limited ability to see or hear.

Exercise is one of the best ways of keeping depression away. It improves your body and your mind and enables (ABLE) you to perform better in the work place and at home.

Proper breathing (BREATH) is essential if you want to get the most from exercise and you should also take into consideration (CONSIDER) your heart rate. It can be harmful (HARM) to do too much, which is why all good fitness instructors emphasise the importance (IMPORTANT) of 'listening to your body'. When you first start you should use good judgement (JUDGE), because it's easy to make the mistake of using the equipment incorrectly (CORRECT) or doing too much at one time. Start slowly and build up gradually.

Exercise should not be seen as a demanding (DEMAND) task; it can be as easy as a quick walk. To increase your fitness steadily (STEADY) , exercise for 20 minutes a day, 4 to 6 times a week and you will notice a difference (DIFFERENT) in your body and mind in a few weeks.
